WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the initial help offered to someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis until appropriate professional support can be provided or the crisis resolves.
Despite growing awareness of mental wellbeing, many people still feel unsure how to respond. MHFA is a nationally-recognised, evidence based course that gives you, your managers and your employees the confidence, language and tools to make a difference when it matters most.
This evidence-based program is recognised across Australia and internationally for improving early intervention, reducing stigma, and strengthening community and workplace wellbeing.

Delivered by Natasha, an accredited MHFA Instructor and Mental Health Clinician with over 30 years of experience, course participants will learn how to:
-
Intervene early: Recognise the warning signs of mental health problems in other adults
-
Offer support: Learn the skills to have an open, supportive conversation about mental health
-
Respond in a crisis: Respond across a range of crisis situations where an adult may be at risk of harm
-
Reduce stigma: Reduce stigma and increase support for adults experiencing and living with mental health problems
Participants will be accredited as a Mental Health First Aider with nationally recognised certification, valid for three years.
